You’re getting married - hooray!

I’m honored to be considered as your wedding officiant. My process for weddings is outlined below, and you can learn more about me on the “About Me” page. If you think we’d be a good fit and you’d like to move forward, please reach out through the “Connect” page!

We’ll start with a short video chat, which will help us get to know each other, and will allow me to understand what you’re looking for in your wedding. It will also let us decide if the relationship feels like a good fit! If it does, I’ll send you a contract, and once you return your deposit, I’ll be your officiant!

I’ll send you an initial outline of ceremony ideas, and this will begin a back and forth where you can be as involved as you would like in crafting the ceremony. Who do you want to participate, and how? What readings are meaningful to you? What do you want to invoke? We will continue to meet, in person, by phone, or by video call, and to communicate via email, to craft a ceremony that feels meaningful to you. A final draft of the ceremony will be done 15 days before your wedding, so that you don’t have to be stressing about it up to the last minute.

I’ll run the rehearsal, if you choose to have one. I highly recommend having a rehearsal, as a way to minimize anxiety and make sure everyone involved is on the same page. On the day of your wedding, I will show up as your minister. This means officiating the ceremony, yes, but also being present to all the feelings you and your family might have. Need a reminder to breathe? I can do that. Need someone to talk to a tearful relative? I can do that, too. My role on your wedding day is to help make it as stress-free and joyful as possible for you and everyone involved! I’ll coordinate with the photographer, musician, and other vendors to make sure things are going smoothly. I’ll help smooth over last minute surprises if they pop up, and do everything I can do make sure you and your loved ones are feeling as relaxed as possible and ready to celebrate.

After the ceremony, if you are choosing to get legally married, we will sign the marriage license alongside any witnesses you choose, and I’ll submit it to the town clerk so that the government considers you married!

Fees

  • Custom wedding: $550 - a personalized ceremony, includes a rehearsal

  • Holiday weddings: $600 (Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving and following weekend, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)

  • Elopement ceremony: $400 - a small ceremony with minimal custom elements

I believe that relationships should be between equal partners. If you would like your wedding to include language or symbolism of one partner being less than equal to the other, then I am not the officiant for you. I also will not perform rituals that include the release of animals or objects like balloons or lanterns outdoors.
